MAT-SU Learning Center

PACE STATEWIDE HOMESCHOOL

Hours: Monday through Friday 8 am to 4 pm

Please call before visiting us to ensure staff availability.

At the MLC, we treat our families like family – we know each other by first name and have a vested interest and joy in our students’ success.

A visit to the MLC shows visitors how easy, relaxed, and fun it can be to access premier homeschooling.

Local families are invited to visit the MLC to peruse a variety of sample curriculum options, chat with staff while seated on a comfortable couch, or borrow a book from our small lending library. In our play area, we have a large dry erase board, toys, and deep bean bag chairs where students can nestle in with a book from our library.

Families can also complete self-guided STEM investigations in our activity corner.

You are always welcome to stop by the Learning Center if you want to pick up curriculum, have questions answered, or just to say hi and maybe have a coffee and visit with us. If you have any questions about parent reimbursements, or need help creating purchase requests, feel free to stop by.

 ACTIVITIES FOR MAT-SU HOMESCHOOL FAMILIES

At least once per quarter, the MLC hosts group activities based on family input: activities such as family bowling, student paint night, and field trips to destinations such as the Musk Ox Farm have been offered. We are part of the Alaska Valley Homeschool Network and look forward to providing our families with further opportunities from that connection.

NEARBY FOR MAT-SU HOMESCHOOL FAMILIES

Across the street from the MLC, there is a small, family friendly park with picnic tables for having a nice, safe lunch or energy burning play session. The Wasilla Public Library is just down the street, as is the Post Office, grocery shopping, coffee shops, and a number of restaurants. It is easy to access the MLC while out running errands, or to drop by for a longer visit when the days are cold and the office is warm and inviting.
