The AK Reads Act

The AK Reads Act is a state-mandated reading initiative, signed into law in June of 2022,  with the goal of assisting Alaskan students to read on grade level by the end of third grade. All PACE contact teachers are supporting this initiative by participating in professional development provided by the State of Alaska in the area of reading development over the course of the 2023-2024 school year.

PACE Statewide Homeschool is dedicated to sharing this information with parents on an ongoing basis to increase student success. We strive to be in contact with each family on a regular basis to support and encourage families and students on their educational journey throughout each school year, and we firmly believe that our investment in keeping abreast of current educational research, such as that provided by the AK Reads Act, is in the best interest of our families.
