PACE, the correspondence division of the Craig City School District, stands for Personal Alternative Choices in Education. This program was developed in response to the growing demand for alternative and homeschool educational settings and curricular choice within our own district and throughout the State of Alaska.
Offering students and parents personal choice is central to the philosophy of our program. PACE employs State of Alaska certified teachers trained in the concepts and unique demands of correspondence, distance and homeschool education. Our greatest strength is our ability to work with individual families to develop unique educational programs that will prove beneficial to each student who enrolls in our program.
With the addition of our PACE Online classes, PACE continues to meet the needs of the diverse educational settings in the State of Alaska. These newly developed high school classes, also for homeschooled students, are delivered completely online and qualify for high school credit with the Craig City School District.

It is the policy of the Craig City School District to provide a free, appropriate public education to each school aged child residing within its boundaries. The District is seeking to locate children within its boundaries who may have a disability. If you know of a child age birth-21 who may be having difficulty with speech and/or language, hearing, vision, motor skills, learning aptitude or achievement, social-emotional issues or self help skills and is not receiving special education or related services, please contact the Craig City Schools Coordinator of Special Education, Don Pierce, 907-826-3274, or dpierce@craigschools.com. All information will be kept confidential.
